Roman Coliseum

The Colosseum, also known as the Roman Coliseum, was an amphitheatre in Rome, Italy. Built of concrete and stone between 72 and 80 AD, it was the largest and most impressive of the ancient Roman stadiums. The Colosseum hosted gladiatorial contests, public executions, and animal shows. It was finally destroyed by the Christians in the 5th century AD.
